About
the art:
Whimsy and humor should touch upon every part of life, whether we are
children or adults. By putting animals – squat, awkward, or unusual
– in typically human, even grown-up situations, I hope to remind
the viewer not to take herself (or anything life throws at her) too
seriously.
The illustrations featured here are done in graphite pencil or colored
pencils. Most of them measure 8 x 7 or 10 x 7 inches.
About the artist:
Victoria Reed grew up in Maine, and studied drawing at the Portland
School of Art (now Maine College of Art) and Sarah Lawrence College.
She holds a graduate degree in art history from Rutgers University.
